Healing Beyond Words: Sound Literacy & Reflective Practice
A 4-week live online certification program exploring sound, listening, attention, emotions, and wellbeing through guided experiential and reflective practices.
About This Programme
Healing Beyond Words: Sound Literacy & Reflective Practice is a 4-week live online certification program designed to introduce participants to the foundations of sound literacy and develop a more conscious relationship with sound. Through guided listening exercises, observation, reflection, journaling, discussion, and experiential activities, participants will explore how sound can influence attention, emotions, behaviour, and everyday wellbeing. The program goes beyond simply listening to sound. Participants will learn to notice, document, and reflect on their own responses to different auditory experiences while developing practical listening and observation skills. A key part of the learning experience is the Sound Experience Record, an experiential listening and reflection journal that participants will maintain throughout the program. They will document sounds they encounter, how they experience them, and the physical, emotional, cognitive, and associative responses that emerge. Participants will also receive the Sound Literacy Handbook: Foundational Edition as a companion resource, featuring listening practices, reflection prompts, journaling pages, home practices, and space to develop a personal Sound Toolkit. The program is experiential and educational in nature, with a focus on sound literacy, conscious listening, observation, and reflective practice.
