Introduction

We're a psychology learning platform based in India, committed to handling personal information responsibly. This policy covers our website, learning platform, payment flows, contact forms, newsletters, and related services.

By using our platform, you agree to the practices described here. This policy should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions, which explain how you may use our services.

The information we collect depends on how you use Your Brain Buddy. Examples include:

  • name, email address, and phone number;
  • billing information and course enrolments;
  • messages you send through forms or support channels; and
  • technical details such as device information, browser information, IP address, and usage analytics.

Some information is provided directly by you, such as account details or form submissions. Other information is collected automatically when you interact with our website, including through cookies and analytics tools.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive health records or clinical treatment information through our general website forms. If you choose to share personal experiences in a live session or message, please share only what you are comfortable with.

How We Collect Information

You may provide information when you:

  • create an account;
  • purchase courses or download resources;
  • subscribe to newsletters;
  • contact support or submit enquiry forms;
  • join live sessions; or
  • otherwise interact with our website.

We also collect information when you sign in, complete an enrolment, book a session, join a waitlist, or communicate with us by email, WhatsApp, or social media. Some data is gathered automatically as you browse pages, use platform features, or interact with cookies and analytics services.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • provide access to courses, resources, and live sessions;
  • process enrolments and payments;
  • respond to enquiries and support requests;

  • comply with legal or regulatory obligations where applicable.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to operating and improving Your Brain Buddy without a clear reason and, where required, your consent.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help the site work properly, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how visitors use our pages.

We may use essential cookies to provide core website functions, performance cookies to improve website performance, and analytics cookies to measure website traffic and understand how our content is used. For example, we use Google Analytics to collect aggregated usage data such as page views and general traffic patterns.

Cookies may also support login sessions, save settings you choose, and help us identify issues that affect how the platform loads or behaves. Where required, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect website functionality, including sign-in, checkout, or saved preferences.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to help run Your Brain Buddy. Depending on how you use our platform, these may include:

  • Razorpay and other payment partners for secure checkout;
  • Google Analytics for website traffic and usage measurement;
  • Google Fonts for typography;
  • email delivery providers for transactional and service messages;
  • hosting providers and cloud infrastructure to operate our website and backend systems; and
  • authentication providers to manage account sign-in and access.

We may also use other services from time to time, such as video conferencing tools for live sessions or customer support platforms, where needed to deliver our programmes.

These providers process information on our behalf only as needed to deliver their service. Each provider has its own privacy policy and data practices, which may differ from ours. We choose providers carefully, but we do not control how third parties handle information once it is shared with them for a specific purpose.

Payment Information

Payments on Your Brain Buddy are securely processed through Razorpay or other authorised payment partners listed in our Third-Party Services section. When you make a purchase, financial details such as card or UPI information are handled directly by the payment provider, not by us.

Your Brain Buddy does not store complete card numbers on our servers. Payment providers process financial information securely using their own systems, encryption, and compliance standards.

We may receive limited payment-related information from our payment partner, such as transaction status, order reference, amount paid, and partial payment details needed to confirm your purchase and provide access.

Invoices and transaction records may be retained for legal, tax, and accounting purposes, and to help resolve payment disputes or support requests related to your purchase. See Data Retention for more detail.

If we suspect a transaction is fraudulent or unauthorised, we may investigate it, decline or reverse the payment where appropriate, and take steps to protect our platform and users.

Data Storage & Security

Your Brain Buddy uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

These safeguards may include:

  • encrypted connections (HTTPS);
  • secure hosting;
  • restricted administrative access to systems that hold personal data; and
  • regular security updates where applicable.

We work with trusted infrastructure and service providers to help keep our platform secure. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services, meet legal compliance requirements, resolve disputes, and maintain business records.

For example:

  • account and enrolment records may be kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards;
  • transaction and invoice records may be retained for tax, accounting, and legal purposes; and
  • marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them, subject to any legal requirements.

When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise, or securely store it in line with applicable law. You may also have rights to request deletion in certain cases, see Your Rights.

Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • update your account details;
  • delete your account where legally permitted;
  • withdraw marketing consent;
  • unsubscribe from newsletters; and
  • request copies of stored information we hold about you.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

We will respond to valid requests in line with applicable law. However, certain records may be retained where required by law, for example, for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance, even if you ask us to delete other information.

Children's Privacy

Your Brain Buddy is intended for adults and learners aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 without appropriate parental or guardian consent.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and remove it where required.
